ABOUT
Planting a Tree

Welcome to Just a Seed

I Corinthians 3:6-7

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.  So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

TREATMENTS

What's it all about?  YOU and God!

Who is God?

God is the creator of everything including YOU!  In fact, you are the pinnacle of His creation!  He made you after His own image!  That sets you apart from everything else in the whole universe!

You are special to God and He loves you!

God is holy and righteous, which means He can do no wrong.

Why do I need Him?

Well, because God is holy and we are sinners (meaning we do wrong), unfortunately, we are separated from Him and destined to spend eternity in a terrible place prepared for Satan and his fallen angels.

We need to be saved from our sin in order to become His child and spend eternity in heaven with Him instead.

Listen to this.  There is nothing WE can do to fix this problem.

But thankfully, because God loves us so much, He sent His Son, Jesus, to take our punishment for us!

He paid the price for us to go to heaven!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!

What's the deal with the Bible?

The Bible is God's Word.  It's His way of telling us that He loves us and how we can spend all of eternity with Him in heaven!

In it, we learn that we are sinners.

We learn about our enemy, Satan, and how Satan wants to ruin our lives and destroy us...even after our lives on earth are over.

What happens when I ask Jesus to be my Savior?

When you accept God's gift of salvation, Jesus Christ becomes your Savior.  That means He saves you from something that you could not save yourself from.

God's Holy Spirit will come to live in you and will help you to know what you should or should not do.  (It will feel similar to the way your conscience bothers you when you do something wrong.)

This salvation is forever!  There is nothing you can do to make God stop loving you or to make Him take back the gift He gave you.  He promised that!

How do I know all this is real?

Everything written on this page is taken from the Bible.  If you would like to have a list of where in the Bible you can find it all, you can email us, and we'd be happy to share that with you!

What do I need to do?

Just like your parents buy you a present for your birthday or Christmas, it is paid for, but it isn't yours yet.  You haven't received it yet.

In order for God's gift (we call it salvation) to be yours, you have to accept it.

That means you have acknowledge to God (through prayer or just talking to God) that you are a sinner and need His gift.  There is nothing you can do to save yourself.  And in your heart believe that Jesus is God's perfect Son who died in your place and rose again, proving that He's more powerful than death itself.

Tell God that you accept His gift of salvation and want to be His.

I DID IT!  Now what?!?

You are sure to have a lot of thoughts and questions when you decide to put your trust in Christ.

You will probably spend the rest of your life learning more about what you have and who God is.

There are just a few things you should do right away to get started out on a good path.

1. Pray - Tell God everything you have all bottled up inside.  He wants to hear you.

2. Read the Bible - That is how you will learn.  When you become a Christian, it's kinda like a baby being born.  You keep eating and moving and growing.  Well, the Bible is like your food.  You can't get it all at once and have enough to last your whole life.  You need a steady diet every day to help you grow.

3.  Find a church that teaches the Bible only and attend as much as you can.  There you will find encouragement and teaching about the Bible, as well as others who can pray with you and for you.

4.  Get baptized.  This is something you do to show others that you meant what you said.  By going under the water and back up again, you're showing a picture of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

What is this page? Just a Seed and Kid 2 kIds began with a kid who knew about something that he wanted to share. Not so easy. It started with kids and quickly spread to everyone. (and he grew up and realized that grown ups are people too).
